Role of computers is continuously expanding in the developing world. One
can’t have a well rounded education without knowing something about
computers.
Computer makes you more efficient, by doing complicated tasks easily. More
ever computer can be enjoyable and entertaining too. You can’t really
conceive of doing creative work in the modern world without computers.
It is no longer possible for a person to ignore the input of scientific and
technological developments specially those in computer technology. Computers
are used in banks, offices, stores, factories, schools, government agencies,
military installations and just about in any other organization one can
think. Specialized computers are built in many modern applications, machines
and vehicles. Let it be word processing, designing a complex electronic
circuit or a machine element, computer had made the job very simple. New
softwares are entering the market day by day, supported by improved
hardware.
The trained manpower to use this tool in effective manner is the need of
hour. The demand for computer engineering in the industry as well as
consultancy organization is ever growing in this developing stage.

Labs and Facilities |

The students are provided with excellent laboratory facilities that include
a ISDN internet connection at anytime during the day. The department has a
Linux server, a windows NT server (running on a IBM server) and a Novell
Netware server. There are about 200 terminals provided for the use of the
students. Most of the machines are Pentium III, Pentium IV based. The
department also has other high-tech peripherals for students’ extra
curricular projects and activities such as scanners, CD writers, printers
and LCD projector.
